Course Purpose
The clinical placement course is intended to reinforce knowledge, skill, and attitudes of the learner in the performance of all basic nursing skills on various groups of clients/patients.
Course Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate understanding of assessments and basic nursing procedures required for patients with medical and surgical conditions, including orthopaedic conditions, and for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and the newborn.
Perform assessments and basic nursing procedures on patients with various conditions in different settings, including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and maternal care and newborn care.
Demonstrate precision and empathy in performing assessments and procedures to enhance patient care across different medical specialties.
Apply skills in performing assessments and basic nursing procedures effectively in a clinical setting, adapting to the specific needs of different patient groups including those with medical, surgical, orthopaedic conditions, and maternal and newborn care.
