Course Purpose

To enable the learners to acquire the fundamentals of law and ethics and their application in cyber security and digital forensics

CLO 1: Appreciate the importance of laws and ethics in guiding the ICT society 

CLO 2: Understand the ethical and legal responsibilities of service providers, cyberspace users, and content
providers 

CLO 3: Analyze security breaches and their legal responses as applicable in the law 

CLO 4: Formulate ethical and legal decisions regarding ICT for providers and consumers, professionals and non-professionals, and end users

Principles of Ethics: Ethical Values; Theories of Social Change; Ethical Decision-Making Framework; Ethical Frameworks for Cybersecurity; Code of Ethics. Laws and Cyberspace Usage: Content Controls; Ethical and Unethical Hacking; Privacy and Social Media; Cybercrimes (Electronic Break-Ins, Sabotage, Software Piracy). Intellectual Property Rights: Foundations of Intellectual Property Rights; Ownership; Intellectual Property Crimes; Transnational Issues and Intellectual Property. New Frontier for Computer Ethics: Virtual Reality and Ethics; Artificial Intelligence and Ethics; Cyberbullying and Cyber Shaming; Framework for Ethical Cyber-Defense.
