Course Purpose
The purpose of this course is to introduce leaners to educational research, including the nature of research, research methods, the research process, research design, data analysis and ethics. It will introduce learners to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research approaches in education and learning design.

Course Content
Philosophical perspectives on education and research: Definition and scope of educational research; the role of research in education; the research process: problem formulation, research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Research Design: Types of research design: qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods; sampling techniques and sample size determination; data collection instruments: questionnaire, interview, observation, and test; strengths and limitations of each research method in education
Data Collection: Methods of data collection: surveys, interviews, observations, and experiments; techniques for recording and analyzing data, c) ethical considerations in data collection.
Data Analysis: Types of data analysis; Data analysis quantitative, qualitative, and in mixed methods research; ethical considerations in data analysis.
Earning Credibility as a leader: Characteristics of a credible Leader; Changing communication Style depending on team member and condition; Motivating through communication; Creating an environment of engagement;
Interpretation of Results: strategies for interpreting research findings; dissemination of research results; implications for teaching, policy and practice;
