This module equips educators and institutional leaders with the knowledge and practical skills required to prepare for, identify, and respond to mental health crises within educational settings. It emphasizes early identification of psychological distress, application of Psychological First Aid (PFA), establishment of effective referral systems, and development of structured school-based crisis response strategies. The module adopts a proactive and systems-based approach, enabling institutions to build resilience, safeguard learners and staff, and ensure coordinated responses during emergencies. It integrates global best practices in mental health and psychosocial support, recognizing that timely, humane, and structured interventions can significantly reduce distress and support recovery.
This module focuses on sustaining your mental health and well-being as an educator through intentional self-care practices. You will learn how to manage stress, prevent burnout, and build resilience within the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) framework. The module requires you to engage in reflective exercises, participate in discussions, and develop a personalized self-care plan. Assessment will be based on quizzes, participation in activities, and a practical self-care plan.
This module explores gender-specific psychosocial challenges faced by female educators and emphasizes inclusive and ethical delivery of MHPSS. You will analyze work-life balance issues, explore strategies for providing support in low-connectivity settings, and apply ethical principles such as confidentiality and privacy. Activities include case studies, discussions, and strategy development. Assessment will be based on participation and a case-based assignment.
