Course Purpose
This course equips learners with advanced technical knowledge and practical competencies required to analyze, diagnose, service, and repair automotive transmission and structural systems. It emphasizes hands-on workshop practice, systematic fault diagnosis, and the application of modern automotive technologies to ensure vehicle performance, safety, and reliability. The course further develops learners’ problem-solving abilities, technical precision, and adherence to industry standards necessary for professional practice in automotive engineering and vehicle maintenance.
Course Learning Outcomes
CLO 1: Identify and explain the construction, components, operating principles, and functions of automotive transmission and structural systems, including suspension, steering, braking, chassis, and related assemblies.
CLO 2: Diagnose faults systematically in vehicle transmission and structural systems using appropriate tools, equipment, and industry-standard diagnostic procedures.
CLO 3: Service, repair, and adjust automotive transmission and structural components in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and workshop best practices.
CLO 4: Apply problem-solving skills and technical judgment to ensure vehicle safety, stability, performance, and compliance with automotive engineering standards.
CLO 5: Demonstrate safe workshop practices, proper tool handling, and adherence to occupational health and safety procedures during inspection, maintenance, and repair operations.
